Compare Kriterion
Five comparisons, one for each app people actually weigh us against. Every one of them says plainly what the other app does well, because a comparison that finds no fault with its author is not a comparison, it is an advert with a table in it.
The short version. Kriterion works out your maintenance calories from what you actually
logged and what the scales actually did, tells you how confident it is in that figure, and then
checks afterwards whether it was right. It carries UK supermarket and high-street food, a full
training log, and no advertising anywhere. What it charges for is the measured-burn layer, not
the daily logging.
Kriterion vs MacroFactor
The other measured-TDEE app
What they do well. They proved a calorie target should be measured rather than assumed, and their expenditure graph is one of the best-built things in fitness software.
Where we differ. Ours states a margin of error and grades its own past predictions against your results. Theirs shows a point value.

Kriterion vs MyFitnessPal
The one everybody has already tried
What they do well. The biggest food database there is, and everyone you know already uses it. That is genuinely the point of it.
Where we differ. A database that large is large because anyone can add to it. Ours badges every entry by how its numbers were produced, and carries no advertising.

Kriterion vs Nutracheck
The UK incumbent
What they do well. They solved the UK food problem before anyone else took it seriously, and their product photographs are a real advantage we cannot match.
Where we differ. The difference is not the food data. It is whether your calorie target is measured from your own results or picked from an activity dropdown at signup.

Kriterion vs Cronometer
The serious nutrition database
What they do well. Deeper micronutrient coverage than ours, curated against laboratory sources for longer, and a web app we do not have.
Where we differ. Ours tells you where each figure came from, what your burn rate actually is, and what happens on the days you eat out.

Kriterion vs Hevy
The lifting log
What they do well. The app that made training logs look good, and a free tier that is properly usable rather than a demo.
Where we differ. They have to charge for the logger because the logger is the whole product. We do not, so more of ours is free and the subscription buys something they do not sell.

How these are written. Every claim about our own app is checked against its source code
before it goes on the page, and every claim about theirs is either from their own published
material or left out. Where we could not verify something, it is not here. If you find one of
these unfair, or out of date because they have shipped something since, tell us and we will
fix the page.
